Initial Planning

For our final piece, we have decided to do a music video. We have faced many difficulties while trying to find the perfect song to do a video to. Our first idea was a song called R.E.S.P.E.C.T by Aretha Franklin, it was also a remix, the remix was faster paced than the original song. The genre of this Dance/Electro Beat.

With this song we found it hard to get ideas, because the song was so such a fast tempo, we collected a few ideas for this song but we thought against them as we didn't think it would look 100% professional. Although it would be possible with a lot of hard work, we decided against it as we wanted a song that would portray a message to the audience, and as this was a remix with a lot of the meaningful song lyrics taken out, it would be difficult to follow Goodwins theory of linking the lyrics and the visuals together.

The next song we decided to try and have a go at was by Labrinth  ft. Tinie Tempah called Earthquake:

The problem was the same again for this music video, we struggled to collect ideas for the video, we got some ideas and they were looking promising. As we thought this was going to be the song we were going to do we made a questionnaire to ask a class of students what they thought about the video and how it made them feel:
The only problem we faced to do this song was the location we wanted, we wanted to get a gym room with a punching bag in it, as we were unable to get one for the time we wanted we had to change our idea. Also, this video already had an extremely professional music video already produced, so we were  a bit hesitant as we wanted a sort of a fresh sheet to create out video.

The final song we chose and have managed to start recording is a song called Tears by Tinie Tempah Ft. Cleo Sol. Produced by DaVinChe.

With this song we got many of ideas and started filming immediately, with our music video there is a storyline to it. We thought to put a storyline into the video so there is a meaning to it, and we have also made sure the message is clear of what we are trying to portray.
